画中画を描いているうちに、それ以外の部分も気になり始め、ディテールだけを拡大模写するようになった。それは絵画のなかの重要部分であったり、目や手だけであったり、鏡に映った像であったり、さまざまだ。
10年以上たってからシリーズ化した「上の空」も、名画の上半分だけを模写したもので、このシリーズに含まれる。
While I was drawing the picture-within-the-picture series, I began to care about other parts, so I started to copy only the enlarged details. They were an important part of a painting ,an eye or a hand, or an image reflected in a mirror, etc.
Over 10 years later, I started a series of "Sky above", which is a copy of only the upper half of the masterpiece, and is also considered as this series.

ディテール（ジョット） パネルに油彩 2006 the detail(Giotto) oil on panel
パドヴァのスクロヴェーニ礼拝堂に描かれたジョットのフレスコ画の一部を拡大したもの。ユダがキリストに接吻する瞬間で、左がキリスト、右がユダ。昔から善人と悪人の人相の違いは明らかだ。両者の隙間に２人の兵士の顔がひしめく描写も斬新。

驚くべき細密描写を見せるファン・エイク作《ファン・デル・パーレの聖母子》のディテール。拡大したのは、依頼主の聖職者ファン・デル・パーレの顔の一部。

フェルメール作《絵画芸術の寓意》に描かれた画家の手の部分を拡大したもの。実際にこれを描いている自分の手を見て描いた。

西洋絵画には首を斬ったり皮を剥いだりする残酷な場面が多い。これはカラヴァッジョによるゴリアテ、アルテミシアによるホロフェルネス、モローによる洗礼者聖ヨハネなど、斬られた首ばかりを集めたもの。
